Gut-Friendly Foods To Add To Your Lady Shake

If you’re looking for things to add to your shake to switch it up, why not throw in some gut-friendly ingredients? Our shakes have you covered with adequate protein, carbs and essential vitamins and minerals – but there’s no rule that you can’t add more, whether it be for flavour, texture or getting in even more nutrients. 


All of these ingredients will make your gut (also known as your second brain) very happy!

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are well-known for being incredibly nutrient-dense. They’re rich in vitamins A, B, E and D. They contain essential minerals like calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. They’re also the richest natural plant source of omega-3 fatty acids, and they’ve got protein and fibre!


The best part? They’re tasteless, so you can add them into any flavour of our shakes. We recommend mixing 2 tablespoons of chia seeds in with The Lady Shake.


Blueberries are a natural mood-boosting food, and they’ve even been shown to support brain health as we age, but they’re still your gut’s best friend. 


They’re the most nutrient-dense berry, providing a good source fibre, vitamin C, K and manganese. They’re also 85% water making them incredibly low in calories! 


Add a cup of blueberries to The Lady Shake Strawberry for a very berry concoction, or to The Lady Shake Banana for some extra fruity goodness.  


Oats are a good source of protein and fibre, and contain iron, vitamin B1, magnesium, zinc and more! They’re one of the world’s healthiest grains and support both gut and heart health. Another benefit of oats is they also increase satiety, meaning they’ll keep you fuller for longer! 


Ground oats will provide your shake with a nutty flavour, so we recommend mixing ¼ cup of oats with The Lady Shake Chocolate, Vanilla, Caramel, Coffee, or to The Lady Shake GO! Mocha, Espresso or Vanilla Latte

Greek Yoghurt

Greek yoghurt is the ultimate gut-friendly food! It’s a probiotic, meaning it contains bacteria that can support the good bacteria living in your digestive system. 


Greek yoghurt has a tangy taste that pairs well with fruit, so we recommend The Lady Shake Banana and Strawberry. Just add 2 tablespoons of Greek yoghurt to your shake for an even happier gut.
