With the new years comes the time to reflect on the year that’s just gone by and for many people it’s a time to make physical and mental lists and set self improving goals.
Thankfully, we have created a step-by-step guide to making resolutions and sticking to them this New Years:
1.Recognise what you need to change
Have you entered the year feeing tired, sluggish and bloated? Theres no time like now to make a change. Especially if you have felt like that for a long time and not just during the festive season. However long you have felt like that you must no deep down that it’s not healthy to constantly feel that way and it is time for a change.
2. Establish the goal you want to achieve
For some of you it might be to lose 5 kilos, for others it might be to just generally feel better, look better, have more energy and keep up with your kids. Whatever your goal might be, pen it down on some paper or in your notes in your phone and actually try and visualise how you will feel once you hit your goal.
3. Begin with a goal directed activity
Whatever it is you want to achieve this year, it is important to figure out how you are going to achieve it. If it is to lose weight, what is the most convenient and easiest way you are going to achieve that goal. The solution needs to be realistic and something you can stick to.
4.Track Your Process
Keep a diary, track your eating, take photos and write down how you feel. All these little things are something you can reflect one once you start hitting your goals and you can physically see how far you have come.
5. Reward Yourself
It’s not realistic to eat healthy 100% of the time, that’s how you come undone so easily. That’s why our slogan is ‘have your cake and eat it too’ as lifes to short to give up the things you love. Treat yourself to a treat meal once a week to keep your mental state ticking or maybe have a day of rest on the weekend where you just chill out.
